FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS...
CONGRATULATIONS to Five Points Fighters Rima Sidhu, Passa Chattra, Hiroaki Sumikora and Sergio Aguirre. Competing in the Church Street Gym Friday Night Fight Series, they all put on technical and inspiring performances . Rima systematically dismantled the very strong and experienced Jenny Foster of Sitan Gym, while Passa made her decision over the more experienced and very confident Stacey Scappecia look easy. Hiro and Eric Ruiz of Sitan put on a frenetic and nuanced display with Ruiz taking the decision. Stepping in at the last minute against the bigger, younger and very powerful Andrew Rivera of Camp Undefeated, Sergio showed excellent technique, determination and heart before Riverta's ferocious knees put a stop to the bout. A great showing by all the fighters and a very good event.

FIGHT SCIENCE ON THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL AT 9 PM...
this program takes martial artists and has them do their thing in a science lab, where it can be quantified and examined in minute detail. The results are pretty amazing. Representing muay thai is Melchor Menor, World Champion and friend of Kru Steve from almost 20 years when they were members of the US Team coached by Master Toddy to the World Championships in Thailand. Arguably the best stand-up fighter the States have produced, Mel is also a fantastic instructor. If you are in the San Diego area, be sure to look him up. And check out FIGHT SCIENCE tonight at 9 pm on National Geographic Channel!
