FIVE POINTS FIGHTERS JOSE CRUZ AND PASCAL JEAN-MICHEL (WITH RESULTS)...

...will be competing in a Long Island Kickboxing Organization promotion this Saturday, August 22. Sanctioned by the PKF and the USMTA, the show promises to be a good one with Jose facing local favorite "Smokin" Joe Rios and Pascal challenging former champion John Gilliam of AFC Kickboxing for the PKF East Coast title belt. Doors open at 6:30 with the first bout scheduled to begin at 7 sharp. If you'd like to come support the fighters please see them for advance tickets.

RESULTS:

Jose, to everyone's surprise, failed to make the contract weight. No bout.

Pascal Jean-Michel v. John Gilliam (AFC Kickboxing):
Gilliam is a repeat PKF World Champion in Full Contact/American Rules Kickboxing, an "A" Class fighter with extensive international experience. Pascal trains and fights exclusively in muay Thai and is still gaining experience as a "C" Class fighter. This bout marked his 4th fight. Yet it seemed to most observers that Pascal pressed the action throughout the fight, landing more combinations, while Gilliam seemed content to hold when pressured. At the end of the fight and on the Champions home turf, the judges couldn't pick one over the other: a draw.
