RESULTS:

Another great performance from the Five Points Team.

In her second outing, Jennifer Pearsall faced the more experienced southpaw Corrine Neheme of Ottawa Academy of Martial Arts. Jen exhibited powerful combinations, effective aggression and textbook defense. As one ring official was heard to comment, "the other girl made contact, your fighter made impact. And if her chin was any tighter on her chest it would be coming out her back." A very entertaining, action packed bout with an interesting split decision for Neheme.

The second Five Points fighter of the night was also making her sophomore effort. Luz Gandulla stepped in against the very experienced and tough Stacey Scapecia of Connecticut Combat Club. Luz shocked Scapecia early, jumping right on her with a flurry of punches and kicks transitioning to very good work in the
clinch. Experience showed over the course of the fight, however, as Luz seemed to tire and her opponent pressed forward, resulting in a split decision for Scapecia.

Both Five Points novices showed great improvement, excellent technique and heart. Look for big things from them in the future.

In the Co-Main Event of the evening, Five Points' Rima Sidhu faced the tough and talented Marisa Badillo of California's Combat Fitness in a highly anticipated rematch. Rima was simply exceptional. Moving forward from the opening bell, Rima completely shut down Badillo's boxing, landing hard right hands, kicks and knees while forcing her opponent back on her heels and cutting off the ring. Badillo never gave up but couldn't adapt to Rima's relentless offensive pressure and exceptional defense. At the end of the 5th it was a much-deserved unanimous decision for Rima.

Huge thanks to the many, many Five Points students who came out to support the team!
