HOT WATER UPDATE

Thank you to all of you for your patience and understanding while we worked to increase the hot water supply to the showers. The layout of the space, limitations imposed by the building power supply, an increase in members and therefore showers and laundry cycles: all added up to cold showers, especially for the ladies. Never fun, especially in the winter! After multiple consultations and site surveys, the plumbing geniuses at AAA Plumbing upgraded the power of the heating elements in the hot water heater, installed a mixing valve, and added a hot water recirculating system. Enjoy your hot water!

A few things you can do to help make sure there is plenty to go around:

-- please do not turn the shower on and walk away to chat with friends, text, email, do your taxes, amend your will, etc. The recirculating system keeps the hot water seconds away, so no need to let the water run. It wastes water and energy, so please be aware.

-- if you take one towel to use, please use the towel you take. We find an unbelievable number of towels that have been left around the club, never or barely used. Again, a huge waste of water and energy.

-- if you have laundry service, please remember that it is for training attire (shorts, tee, socks, etc). If you pack it like a sardine can, it will neither rinse clean nor dry thoroughly. And please, no gi's! Overstuffing the bags and the weight of saturated canvas gi's cause the computer brains in our high efficiency washers to go nuts, rinsing repeatedly. Another huge waste of water and energy (hey, is this a theme?).

-- we know we have great shower pressure, the tiling is lovely, the stalls are spotless, it would be great to just stay under that warm water all day and night...but please remember there are other members waiting to shower as well.

Thank you all again for your patience and cooperation. Next up: retiling the ladies showers to repair the cosmetic damage from installing the recirc system.
