Muay Thai Challenge II
Saturday, 27 March 2010
Fighthouse, 122 West 27th Street (2nd Floor), NYC 10001
Weigh-In: 4:30 pm
First bout: 7:30 pm
Youyung Cho v. Delroy McCoy (Camp Undefeated):In his first bout, Youyung weighed in at 136 for the 140-145 weight class. While undeniably tough and clearly determined, 9 pounds proved to be an insurmountable obstacle, as McCoy shook off Youyung's attacks and pushed him around the ring. A very exciting fight and a very fine first effort, but lesson learned. McCoy by Unanimous Decision.
Jennifer Pearsall v. Jessica Sanford (Frederick Fight Club): Jennifer trains very hard and always throws powerful combinations. Both habits served her very well as she dominated her opponent from the opening bell in route to a victory for Jennifer by TKO in round three.
Jesse Handler v. Nyon Wayo (Gladiator's Gym): This was an excellent bout by two very strong, very tough novice fighters who looked much more polished. Jesse punished Wayo throughout the first two founds with hard low kicks and knees in the clinch and looked to be en route to a win. Wayo caught Jesse with a high kick in round three that dropped him for the 8 count and managed to score Wayo a win by Split Decision.
Tristan Seisa v. Matthew Prensteiner (International Training Ctr): In his first bout Tristan looked calm and in control from the opening bell. Landing punishing left roundhouse kicks, he kept the very game Prensteiner outside and unable to use his boxing skills. A very technical display and a clear win for Tristan by Unanimous Decision.
Thanks very much to the many, many students who came out to support the fight team and to Coaches Emily, Eddie and Sergio for assisting Arjan Steve so competently.
