GARDEN STATE JUDO CLASSIC -- Results

On Sunday April 18, 2010, three members of the Five Points Grappling Team (John Tabaniag, Yik Lam Yu(Nikki) & Richard Fabella) traveled to Lodi New Jersey to participate in the first annual Garden State Classic Judo tournament held at the Boys & Girls Club of Lodi NJ & hosted by the North Jersey Judo Club.

John Tabaniag medalled in the men’s under 198 llbs. division after accumulating points from hard-earned throws, with plenty of ground fighting prowess on display.

Nikki Yu tore through her division and ended up taking first place in the womens senior division. Nikki displayed great technique with her ability to create off balance situation, sweeping and throwing her opponents for clean decisive wins.

Richard Fabella lost his first match but subsequently fought four hard matches to earn second place in the senior men’s under 161llbs. division.
